he's got a TV in his truck that picks up lots of local channels... with buttons to change those channels on the dash... yeah. that's some 007 level stuff there. :>

he's lost ShinHai ever since the 'Toho movie case' a little while ago. so any lead needs to be followed up immediately. that turn's not exactly illegal, just dangerous considering the rain.

just like Shin explained to the Prof. earlier, Shin didn't know if the folks in the black sedan were following Shin, his mom, or Haibara. once those dudes passed the Prof's yellow Beetle Shin figured out their target wasn't his mom. she had left for the airport a while earlier. but he doesn't know if Haibara or himself is the target of surveillance or what. so Conan appearing on 'live TV' is NOT a good idea, especially with a sick Haibara helpless in the Prof's Beetle.

Japan uses a 6 day work week, not a 5 like we do. their normal day off is Sunday. but like Conan said, not every clinic/hospital takes their 'one day off' on Sunday. some use Thursday etc. even schools have at minimum a half day of class on Saturday.

also, they need to keep Haibara's ID on the DL. minimally invasive testing and suchforth, who knows what the ATPX has done to her and Shin's blood. so a small clinic would be the best, not a huge metropolitan hospital. also, somebody on the surveillance team could have bribed an employee or three at the major ER hospitals to keep an eye out for 'kids who fit a description'. all the team would have to say is, 'there are a pair of kids at risk. i can't say more, but if you see any children that look like -this- give me a call.'
